Fall 2013 Quilt Market

WOW, life has been a whirlwind in the last week!

Other than the Timbers making it into the playoffs and WINNING in Seattle (FINALLY!), I had the opportunity to attend Fall Quilt Market in Houston, Texas, thanks to the day job.

Quilt Market isn't what you think (although there were TONS of quilts on display). It was three jam-packed days of fabric buying, all housed under the absolutely ginormous George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston.

I didn't get to see it all. I didn't get to see all the fabric manufacturers that I wanted. I did, however, try to shoot photos along the way, and my favorites from the trip are below.

For the whole shebang, check out my flickr set here.

Designers!

There were SO many talented and amazing designers present at Quilt Market, and this fangirl only ended up with getting photos of four amazing designers: Heather Bailey, Janet Clare, Vanessa Christenson, and Denyse Schmidt.

The Booths

Quilt Market means the fabric manufacturers are going all out when it comes to their booths. There were so many to see, and I missed many booths. Below are some of my favorites.

Michael Miller

Robert Kaufman

Seriously, this booth was AH-MA-ZING. I was told each animal in their booth was made from scratch, with no pattern, all with their Cuddle fabric (aka Minky). I can barely sew that stuff without cursing a bunch (I'm lame and haven't bought a walking foot for my new machine), let alone making 3D animals with it!!

It was awesome, and I can't wait to go to Spring Quilt Market in May.
