My Heart on Display: Celebrating 100 Watercolor Hearts and My First Art Show!

It's a moment I've been dreaming of, planning for, and pouring my heart (quite literally!) into for months. Today, I'm thrilled to announce the launch of my All My Love watercolor heart painting collection!

You may remember this project was born from a successful Kickstarter campaign. After painting hearts for my Kickstarter backers, I kept on painting. I ended up creating 100 original watercolor paintings, each one its own unique color combination and metallic kintsugi-like overlay.

For those who followed along, you know this journey began with a leap of faith on Kickstarter.

Your incredible support and belief in this project made it possible for me to dive deep into the world of mixing colors to create this collection.

Painting each of these 100 hearts has been a labor of love and a meditative process, and it surprisingly brought ways for me to personally reflect where I have felt broken...and each painting helped "glue" me back together.  

My Studio Soundtrack: Naming the "All My Love" Collection
As I completed each of the 100 paintings, I knew I wanted to give them more than just a number (although I did number each one so I could keep track of them and who they were going to!).

Music is a huge part of my creative process – it sets the mood, fuels my inspiration, and often reflects the emotions I'm trying to convey on paper. After all the painting was done, I revisited a playlist I had curated specifically for my studio sessions. Piece by piece (ha, there's a painting named this after a Pharrell song), I thoughtfully paired each unique watercolor heart with a song from that playlist, giving it a name that resonates with the feeling of the artwork and the music that accompanied its creation. This means each painting in the "All My Love" collection carries not just the visual expression of a heart, but also the echo of a melody.

Debut at Second Saturday Art Walk!
I'm absolutely delighted to announce that I'll be participating in the Second Saturday Art Walk THIS Saturday (April 12, 2025) at Brut in Astoria! This marks a truly special occasion for me – my very first art show!

The thought of sharing these paintings with my local community, especially in a very public setting as the Astoria Second Saturday Art Walk, fills me with both excitement and a touch of nervous anticipation.

Brut, with its cozy atmosphere and commitment to showcasing local talent, feels like the perfect place to debut the "All My Love" collection. I am grateful for Lisa, the owner of Brut, for partnering with me to show off part of the collection.

What can you expect to see?

• You'll see a selection of the 100 paintings on display (seriously, photos really don't do them justice!)
• You'll be able to purchase pieces and take them home, right then and there
• You'll get a chance to connect: I'll be there at Brut during Art Walk starting at 4pm on Saturday. I'm excited to meet you, share the story behind the collection, and answer any questions you might have.
