  • THIS SATURDAY :: Crafty Wonderland October Virtual Market!

YES, friends, I am back!! This Saturday is Crafty Wonderland's October Virtual Market, and you can read more about it below.

    Update on Me and Marshmueller
My studio is a mess of remote learning materials, photo shoot lighting equipment, and overflowing bins of....INVENTORY!

I have been working on restocking the shop for some time. Last fall, when I announced my diagnosis, I had a ton of incredible people practically buy out my inventory. I was and still am so grateful, and I will never forget everyone's support at that time.

Being in chemo treatment during the holiday season meant that it wasn't a good idea for me to participate in any in-person holiday markets (hello, flu season), which normally would have been a financial blow for my business, but the wonderful purchases from folks like you made sure I was going to be ok. Thank you for that.

I'm still in treatment (targeted chemo), which means it's still not a good idea for me to be in large groups, eat in restaurants, or participate in any in-person craft markets. Coincidentally, we're in a global pandemic and it's currently not a good idea for anyone to gather in-person indoors without masks.

    Crafty Wonderland Virtual Markets
The wonderful ladies of Crafty Wonderland, Cathie and Torie, have rolled with the constant punches of this year, and have brought their phenomenal craft and artist market (that usually happens twice a year at the Oregon Convention Center), to a few virtual markets this fall and winter!

So THIS SATURDAY, a bunch of makers and artists will be going live on Instagram (and if I can get it to work, FB, YouTube at the same time, too!) to either give you a studio tour, demonstrate making their products, even a Halloween story time!

How the heck does a virtual market work?
Don't worry, it's not gonna be a long-ass Zoom call! :D Think of it like a more focused shopping experience:

1- Go to Crafty Wonderland's Website and peruse the vendor list.
All my fellow maker and artist friends participating in the October Virtual Market are listed here:

    https://craftywonderland.com/pages/virtual-market

2- Support these creative folks by shopping!
You can click right through on the vendor listing to shop on that artist's website. I'll be offering something super wonderful to enhance the shopping experience, but I'm not going to tell you yet (pro tip: my newsletter subscribers will know the secret ahead of time, so subscribe if you want to be in on it next time)

3- Get on Instagram and support makers and artists as they go live!
Check out the schedule of events here to see who will be going live when and what they'll be sharing on Instagram Live:

I'll be going LIVE on Instagram (and possibly Facebook and YouTube simultaneously if I can get the technology to work) at NOON on Saturday, where I'll be doing a studio tour! Panics in messy studio vibes

Many artists and makers are giving back with a charitable donation, as so many people are struggling and need help right now. For this market, I am donating 10% of sales to Consejo Hispano, which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the Hispanic and Latinx community of Oregon and Washington. The Hispanic and Latinx community has been one of the hardest-hit members of this pandemic, and I cannot wait to make a donation to show my support.

It's been said to begin your holiday shopping early, which is a GREAT idea, as postal rates are temporarily increasing, shipment delays are still occurring, and it's easier on the budget to spread out your holiday shopping over time.

I've been spending some late nights shooting all this lovely inventory that is back in stock- some of which has never been online (the one upside of a global pandemic is now everything I make is officially online, haha). I hope to edit and list all those items before Saturday- wish me luck!
