The 2024 Kickstarter project is LIVE!

Folks, it's happening: Make 100 Original Watercolor Hearts is LIVE on Kickstarter!

This project almost didn't make it, and I hope to talk more about that in a later post. 

But for now, let's talk about this project and what you could get if you become a backer!

What is Make 100?

Each January, Kickstarter has an open call for creators to launch a Make 100 project, where they make 100 of something. 

What's your project about?

I'll be painting 100 original watercolor heart paintings. The best part: backers get to choose their color palette! I launched (and successfully funded) a similar project last year, and it was SO DANG FUN to work with folks to make some original art together.

What would I get if I backed the project?

You've got options! Some folks opt for a Mystery Postcard (I scan all paintings and select my faves into a variety of postcard designs), while others back an Original piece of art. There are add-ons to add a frame with a mat and/or to upgrade the size of the painting/frame.

What's different about this year's project?

Metallic paint has entered the foray! YES, it's watercolor and I have found the most amazing metallic watercolor that is mind-blowingly awesome and I cannot wait to use it in this project.

I've been fascinated by the Japanese art of kintsugi for ages. For those who don't know, it's when experts in the craft repair broken objects (ceramics, etc.) using gilded paint in the adhesive, so the lines between the broken bits are visible. 

Humans are incredibly resilient, and chances are, you've endured some things in your life where you may have felt broken. This project acknowledges that resilience with color, sparkle, and love.

Truth be told, this might be the last year I'll be painting hearts (who knows what this squirrel brain will want to do next year!). 

How much time to I have to back the project?

You have until the end of February (and yep, it's a leap year!) to back this project. BUT-- as of this writing there are 19 Early Bird slots left- those folks will get an original painting for the Early Bird price, PLUS will get my Heartfelt Hues calendar sent to them this month.
